By-Pass Screen is a specialized screening system used in aggregate production plants to manage oversized materials or excessive material flow during crushing and screening processes. Its primary function is to separate undesired material sizes from the main processing line, either redirecting them back to the crusher or to storage, thereby optimizing system efficiency and preventing crusher overload.
Working Principle:
Material from crushers (e.g., cone, jaw, or impact crushers) is fed onto the By-Pass Screen.
The screen has a specific mesh size (e.g., 30-50 mm). Smaller particles pass through the screen to the main conveyor, while oversized materials remain on top.
Oversized materials are either sent back to the crusher (closed-circuit system) or diverted to stockpiles (open-circuit system).
Key Components:
Vibrating Screen Deck: Made of high-tensile steel or polyurethane mesh.
Vibration Motors: Ensure material movement across the screen.
By-Pass Chutes: Direct oversized materials to crushers or stockpiles.
Control Panel: Adjusts screen settings and vibration intensity.
Advantages:
Crusher Protection: Prevents overload and reduces wear on crushers.
Energy Efficiency: Only required materials are processed, saving energy.
Product Quality: Increases the proportion of desired aggregate sizes.
Adaptability: Screen mesh sizes can be easily changed for different outputs.
Applications:
Quarries and crushed stone plants.
Mobile crushing and screening units.
Recycling plants for concrete and asphalt processing.
